There are two ways to go to Gkoura from the Ziria ski center. The first trail is easier and shorter. It is high likely that you will see free wild horses near the plateau of Gkoura. Near the start of the trails, there is the seasonal lake Dassiou. It is worth a visit. If you want you can explore the area west of the lake, but the terrain is often challenging. All trails maybe unpassable during winter, due to snow. On the trail 2, at 4.3 km of the start, if you go right, there is a dead end trail that leads towards the peak of the mountain, if you feel adventurous you might want to explore it.
