Vardoussia Shelters, alpine zone

A trail that will lead you to one of the most beautiful alpine sceneries in Greece. Vardoussia have two mountain shelters, that are very close the one to the other ( 1 km ). There are three ways to arrive there by car. The first is from Athanassios Diakos, the second from Artotina, the third from Dafnos ( south of the shelters ). We have passed the first two trails. The trails are passable only during summer months, from June to October. During winter months due to the high altitude, snow blocks the trails. Note that the last turn to the second, smaller shelter, is difficult to climb without 4wd.
